Terms of Service
Last updated October 11, 2026
These terms apply to the Vocaen app and this website. By downloading or using Vocaen, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use Vocaen.
The service
Vocaen recognizes speech and translates it so people who speak different languages can talk face to face. Vocaen is in development, and features may change, be added, or be removed.
Translations can be wrong
Speech recognition and machine translation can be inaccurate or incomplete. Don’t rely on Vocaen in medical, legal, emergency, or other situations where a mistranslation could cause harm; use a qualified human interpreter instead.
Using Vocaen responsibly
- Use Vocaen only in ways that comply with applicable laws.
- Where the law requires it, get consent before recording or transcribing other people.
- Don’t copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it.
Your content
Your speech, transcripts, and records belong to you, and we don’t claim any rights to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how they’re handled.
Accounts
Some features may require an account. Keep your sign-in details secure; you’re responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Vocaen app on Apple devices that you own or control. If you get Vocaen from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Apple and third-party services
Vocaen relies on Apple technologies for speech recognition, translation, and spoken playback. Their availability, supported languages, and behavior are controlled by Apple.
Optional cloud engines are run by third-party services. If you connect a provider with your own API key, that provider’s terms apply, and you’re responsible for any charges it bills you.
Pre-release versions
Test builds, including those distributed through TestFlight, may contain bugs, lose data, or stop working at any time.
Purchases and subscriptions
Pricing isn’t set yet. If we introduce paid features, you’ll see the price before you buy. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple under its terms, and you can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.
Disclaimer
Vocaen is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss that results from relying on a recognition or translation result.
Ending use
You can stop using Vocaen at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or discontinue Vocaen, or any part of it, at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Vocaen after an update means you accept the new terms.
